Outdoor Education

Evansville Day School’s 40 acre wooded campus offers a dynamic and beautiful setting for teachers to integrate the external environment into the teaching of every discipline, including science, math, language arts, environmental studies, nutrition, and health. The trails and pathways winding their way through the forest are part of Day School's ongoing committment to provide engaging, hands-on educational experiences for all students, Pre-K through Grade 12.
The outdoor classroom and experiential learning center provide students with opportunities collaborate with peers and faculty in other divisions and across disciplines which cultivates and understanding sustainability and how all elements of the environment are interconnected.
The 40 acre wooded campus also serves as the setting for Gnome Night, at which student artwork from the Primary and Middle Schools is displayed outdoors, and guests are treated to a trailway theater performance featuring gnomes and fairies portrayed by the Upper School students.
