A Middle Grades Experience That Builds Confidence
At Day School, Grades 6–8 is a time of growth, self-discovery, and academic challenge. Our faculty serve as both teachers and mentors, guiding students toward independence, resilience, and personal responsibility in a supportive, tight-knit community. With hands-on projects and leadership opportunities, students develop the critical thinking and collaboration skills needed for success beyond the classroom.
Middle Schoolers are encouraged to step into leadership roles, participating in student-led committees focused on Academics, Community Service, School Culture, and Co-Curricular Life. Through organizing events, service projects, and peer initiatives, they take ownership of their school experience while learning collaboration and problem-solving in real-world contexts. At EDS, students build meaningful relationships, develop their passions, and grow into confident, capable leaders.
Accelerated Academics
With small class sizes and an advanced curriculum, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Hands-on learning in the iLab, interdisciplinary projects, and competitive academic clubs prepare them for future success.
Leadership and Social Emotional Growth
From Student Leadership Council to off-campus retreats, students learn resilience, teamwork, and personal accountability. Dedicated Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) classes help them navigate relationships, self-awareness, and decision-making.

Exploration Beyond the Classroom
Students in grades 6-8 engage in outdoor retreats, science fairs, robotics, and co-curricular activities like theatre, speech team, athletics, and adventure club. They test their ideas, take risks, and discover their passions in a dynamic learning environment.
