Culture, history and communication are integrated into the French and Spanish classes at Evansville Day School.
Our French and Spanish classes integrate culture, history, and communication with an emphasis on four principal skill areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students have the opportunity to practice and employ the target language through field trips and international travel. In the higher levels, teachers and staff emphasize literature and history through essay writing, discussion topics, and in-class viewings of appropriate foreign films.
Students are strongly encouraged to study both French and Spanish and to apply to the Indiana University Honors Programs in Foreign Languages for High School Students (Please visit: http://www.indiana.edu/~iuhpfl/). Both French and Spanish are offered at the AP level.
