Middle School Social Studies

Our Middle School Social Studies curriculum takes our students into our world’s most fascinating and relevant aspects of history, culture, geography, and government.  In Grade Five, students choose a particular country to study and research, and deliver their findings at a spring presentation in which the entire class participates.  In Grade Six, students delve into their personal cultural heritage with a focus on genealogy.  In Grade Seven, the focus turns to the United States, while in Grade Eight, student study focuses on Ancient World Civilizations.  We aim not just to prepare our students to engage with the world in the future, but to be engaged with (to quote Dr. Martin Luther King), “the fierce urgency of now.”
