The overall goal in all of my classes, regardless of level, is to move young minds through and beyond the facts and ideas we master towards a place of discerning – or desiring to discern – the Reasons behind and the Significance of those facts and ideas, which together help us attain a clearer Understanding of ourselves and the world in which we live.

I enjoy being involved with kids in each division.  It is extremely rewarding to watch kids develop as they move through EDS.  At this point in my life, I could not imagine doing anything other than teaching and coaching.

Teaching science at E.D.S. is an exciting experience. With each new topic that is introduced, I have the opportunity to encourage the development of a sense of wonder, appreciation, and stewardship toward the natural world. " EDS has the perfect setting for Instrumental Music to be individualized and customized to meet the needs of our students and the instrument of their choice.  We can put together an ensemble of a variety of instruments depending on the students, not force them into 'generic' band and orchestra.  Sometimes we might have a small or large jazz band, a string ensemble or a flute choir with 18 flutes!"
